LEONDA FINKE

EXPRESSIVE GESTURE

a medallic sculpture retrospective
with selected drawings and sculptures

May 3 - 31, 2006

For the past five decades Leonda Finke has used her powerful and skillfully drawn and sculpted figures to make direct and evocative statements about human struggle, often portraying the female perspective. The medals of dishonor series is an effective example of such portrayals. She has been recognized nationally and internationally for her unique approach and capture of expression in human gestures.

EXPRESSIVE GESTURE exhibits the complete collection of Leonda Finke's medallic sculpture, as well as a selection of drawings and sculptures. This exhibition coincides with the release of an image-intensive 200 page book published by Ruder Finn Press, titled leonda finke, celebrating her
accomplished career as an artist.
