"Beginning
my journey into my post-art-school-experience, I have found
myself working at a bronze sculpture foundry in North Philadelphia.
I have been fascinated with the process of bronze casting for
almost three years now. I feel like it has enriched my art process
as I learn more and more about metal casting. I have been collecting
bronze spills left after pours when we work together. I am fascinated
with the forms created entirely on accident as molten bronze
spills, hits the sand and freezes seconds later. These forms
roll in and out of themselves creating infinite caves and protrusions
like nothing created by hand."

"They become Rorschach Inkblot tests, a window into the
mind of the viewer, or a reflection of the people who spilled
it. Much like looking at clouds, you instinctively try to make
out familiar forms such as landscapes, faces, or anything else
the imagination can muster. It is liquid frozen in the moment
it is most alive. Each one has its own personality, much like
us foundry rats who inadvertently make them. The juxtaposition
of the creators and their creations is what I am playing with.
These sculptures are artifacts of my experience."
