Babia Sime won a competition at the Central Bank of Latvia for a one year scholarship in Instituto Poligfrafico e Zecca Stato S.P.A., Sezione Zecca – Scuola dell’ Arte Della Medagila (The Italian Government Printing Office and Mint, School of the Art Medal) in Rome Italy. Since 2007, she has been working at the Central Latvia Coin Department. Her work is in the permanent collection at The School of Art Medal in Rome, and exhibiting at the Latvian Medal Triennial at Riga, Latvia, and Baltic Medal Triennial at Vilnius, Lithuania.

"Tower crane is a city’s horizon line where the earth and the sky appears to meet. Looking at the sun set in a city, tower crane is always there as a symbol which reminds us about the potentials and limits of humankind’s technological and economic development."
