Born
in Poland, Wojciech studied sculpture in Gdansk, Poland.
He immigrated to Australia in 1985. Since 1989, he has been
employed at the Royal Australian Mint in Canberra as a Designer
and Sculptor. He practices sculpture in stone as well as
creates small medallic pieces. He was the recipient of the
Churchill Fellowship Award in 1992, travelling to Rome to
perfect his sculpture techniques. In 1999, Pietranik’s
design was chosen as the winning medal design to be represented
at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. |
