"A
symbolic interpretation of a memory or moment in time is
how most pieces start. Combining influences from ancient
art, modern packaging and manufacturing help translate into
the medium. For instance, a Bronze Age Celtic sculpture
and styrofoam packing, the layering of different ideas helps
me achieve the look I like. My use of stone comes from my
love of ancient art and has influenced how I work in other
materials." |
"Youthful
adventures taken place by cool shady spots near a stream
are memories always in the back of my mind. If there is
sound that goes with a particular memory, I will try to
visually interpret it with repetition. Old memories tend
to be blurred and I will try to capture that by combining
forms. More recent memories being more clear are interpreted
in a more literal way."
