  • One of a kind. Bright pieces contrast starkly with a battle-torn and blasted playing field. This is a magnetic chess set to be mounted on a shallow wall shelf. The playing field rests at a slight angle to the wall, and is anchored at the top to prevent tipping. Wall-mountaing allows ongoing games without taking up space in crowded living spaces, as happens with horizontal chessboards. Spectators can easily view the positions of the peices as play continues.
  • The Field: boiled lacquer, burned paper, hot steel, ashes, dirt and a match on a wooden backing board • The Pieces: paper, wood, neodymium magnets, felt
