FUMITA
Masao
Fumita was born in 1949 at Osaka City, Japan. His work is
primarily exhibited in the Kansai area, located in Southern
Honshu, the main island of Japan. Outside Japan, Fumita
has exhibited in Berkley, Boston, and New York, and an invitational
artist at the Chinese International Biennial.
Coated
in powerfully vivid pigment, the heaviness of floating
translucent handmade rice paper communicates Fumita's
bold, yet tender, impressions of natural phenomena. His
work captures the feeling and sound of wind blowing. Color
changes evoke the resounding ancient magic that is woven
into nature.
